Having a clean home can reduce your stress and anxiety.  You can feel the benefit if you do the cleaning yourself or bring in the cleaning experts like the Chicks!  Here are some benefits of a clean and organized home!

Control

There are many external forces in the world that may make you feel like you don’t have a lot of control over your life. It can be empowering and uplifting to take control where you can – like your space. Since you are most likely spending a lot of time indoors, consider organizing or cleaning your area. Just getting rid of some clutter will improve your mood and help you concentrate!

Calm

You can burn from 100 to 200 calories per hour of cleaning. That exercise will increase endorphins in your brain, which can reduce stress, lessen anxiety, and ward off depression.  Even if you have the Chicks clean your home, you can use that time to take a nice walk and listen to your favorite music.

Sleep

Some simple cleaning tasks can help you sleep better too! People who make their bed every morning are 19% more likely to report getting a good night’s sleep, and 75% of people said that they sleep better when they have clean sheets. 

Mood

Certain smells can help you feel more energized, motivated, and refreshed.  Some scents you might try are

Pine – A study has shown the practice to be beneficial in lessening anxiety and depression symptoms.

Rosemary and peppermint – both considered to stimulate your mind, so perhaps best used in the home office or anywhere you need to concentrate.
