5 Home Cleaning Resolutions for the New Year

Posted on

Did you make any New Year’s resolutions this year?  Maybe you plan to exercise more, spend more time with the family, or improve your handwriting (I did that one year)? No matter what you plan to do, experts agree that you are more likely to complete small goals and resolutions than big ones! Here are 5 small goal ideas to get you started this year!

5 home cleaning resolutions

Make your bed every day

Who knew that mom was right?  This small goal can make your room look tidier and it has other benefits too.  The National Sleep Foundation found that people who made their beds every day are almost 20% more likely to get a good night’s sleep!

Look in the refrigerator before you take out the trash

Have a quick peek in the fridge to scan for leftovers or food that is past the due date.  This will keep the refrigerator from smelling and cut down on the need to clean before it starts!

Wipe down the bathroom counter before you go to bed

While you are washing your face or brushing your teeth, give the bathroom countertop, sink, and faucet a quick wipe down.  Won’t it be nice to wake up to a clean bathroom?

Create an annual cleaning calendar

Fate favors the prepared!  Start the year with a 12-month plan to keep your home clean and organized.  Here is one you can use!

Get an air purifier

This may be the lowest energy and high impact resolution that you can make.  Air purifiers can remove 99% of the particles that make up dust.  Not will you have a cleaner home, but an air purifier can improve the quality of air that you and your family breathe! Here is what you should for.
