31 Day Cleaning Detox

 

The new school year is just around the corner. Wouldn’t it be nice to start with an organized home? Follow this 31-day cleaning detox to get your house in order.

Day 1: Clean out, throw away expired items, and wipe out the refrigerator

Day 2: Clean out, throw away expired items, and wipe out the freezer

Day 3: Clean the oven

Day 4: Clean the microwave

Day 5: Clean the dishwasher

Day 6: Organize pantry and throw away expired items. Set aside unwanted, non-perishable items for
your local food pantry.

Day 7: Organize kitchen drawers

Day 8: Organize kitchen cupboards

Day 9: Scrub and wipe down kitchen counters

Day 10: Dust light fixtures

Day 11: Dust ceiling fans

Day 12: Dust hard services in the living room and bedroom

Day 13: Wipe down baseboards in ½ the house

Day 14: Wipe down the rest of the baseboards

Day 15: Dust/Vacuum Vents

Day 16: Vacuum edges of carpets

Day 17: Wipe down switch plates and door knobs

Day 18: Clean washer and dyer

Day 19: Wipe down laundry room and clean out dryer vents

Day 20: Wash windows in ½ the house

Day 21: Wash rest of windows

Day 22: Wipe down window sills

Day 23: Wash out garbage cans

Day 24: Organize bathrooms and throw away expired medication

Day 25: Clean bathrooms

Day 26: Wipe down and clean electronics (don’t forget tablets and phones)

Day 27: Clean out closets part 1.  Box or bag items to donate or sell in a garage sale

Day 28: Clean out the rest of the closets. Box or bag items to donate or sell in a garage sale

Day 29: Clean out your miscellaneous areas like mudrooms, coat closets, or that kitchen drawer that
seems to collect spare keys, pens, old garage door openers, air fresheners, and who knows what else!

Day 30: Take a break and do something fun with your family today.  You worked hard this month!

Day 31: Take items for donation to your favorite local charity and non-perishable food to a local food pantry.
