Football Party Ideas for This Fall!

A football-themed party is a great excuse to have some fun, whether or not you are passionate about the game itself! Inviting kids to the party? Serious fans? Here are some great ideas for a football party that incorporates something for everyone.

Play the Game!

You don’t have to split your guests into teams and have them charge around a football field in helmets and pads for your party to qualify as a football party. Although, you can do this if you want! If your party is for children or teenagers, and you want the real deal, you could consider contacting a local football or recreation club in Oklahoma to see if they can help you organize your party – or have a qualified coach take care of things. This takes all the hassle away, since the protective equipment will be supplied and everything will be set up for you.

Watch the Game!

If you‘re having guests over to watch the game, then ask them to turn up in football shirts – and dress up yourself. Those that don’t have shirts can use their imaginations, dress up in team colors, and use face paints, tattoos, ribbons, balloons, or anything they like. Decorate the house with bunting and choose football-themed food, drinks, and snacks. Burgers, hotdogs, popcorn, ice-cream, tacos, and dips, may be a little messy, but you can always get 2 Green Chicks over to help you clean up afterward! You can get table covers that look like real grass, life-size cut-outs of players, popcorn boxes, and cardboard snack trays to hold your guests’ food. Then, turn the volume up loud and enjoy the game.

Football Party Ideas for Younger Ones

A football party for kids or teenagers will, of course, involve football cake, football tableware, loot bags, and invitations. Ask your young guests to dress up in team shirts or colors, or have them decorate a tee-shirt in their favorite team’s colors with special tee-shirt paint or fabric markers. You could have an adult dress up in all the gear and pose for photographs with younger guests. You could then print them off a photo at a later date as a souvenir of the party.

Party Games

Depending on how many guests you invite and how boisterous you want your party to be, you could organize some outdoor games, such as a penalty shoot-out or dribbling around some cones. Get some medals or plastic trophies for prizes. For indoor fun, borrow or rent foosball or table football; you could decorate your walls with football field or stadium scene setters and backdrops, which are giant posters, to really set the scene. Don’t forget a football piñata for the party guests to bash and win some sweets, and provide loot bags full of treats, such as glow-stick necklaces, wristbands, whistles, and balls. Younger children will enjoy treasure-hunt style games. Hide little chocolate footballs all over the house and garden and let them search. If it’s a rainy day, set up a game of finger football indoors with small, soft balls, or organize a football quiz, with pictures, photos, crosswords, anagrams, or some coloring.

A football-themed party doesn’t necessarily have to involve the game since not all your guests will appreciate that. With a little thought, imagination, and preparation, you should be able to come up with some fun ideas to keep everyone happy.
