We clean to promote good health and minimize damage to the environment. At 2 Green Chicks we reduce risk and safeguard health by using products and practices that eliminate the use of harsh chemicals. We also believe that cleaning green means not contributing to the overload of our landfills, so we purchase green cleaners in concentrate and refill containers. This diminishes the amount of packaging required to deliver the cleaning product. Green cleaning is a collection of new tools and practices that are applied to traditional methods. We disinfect and reuse our premium microfiber cleaning cloths instead of disposable wipes or paper towels. We also don’t use feather or lambswool dusters as they tend to move the dust around, instead we use a cotton duster that we can wash as needed. We also use a ceiling fan duster that is washable. Specifically our products include:

• Bon Ami
• Red Juice for all purpose cleaning
• Blue Juice for windows
• An enzyme based floor cleaner that is safe on those hard to clean floors such as Travertine and bamboo
• We use HEPA filter vacuums
• Microfiber and high quality cotton cloths
• High quality cleaning tools such as scrub brushes, professional grade detail brushes, scrapers
• Microfiber mops for ultimate floor cleaning
• We do not use bleach

Green cleaning is good for allergy and asthma sufferers or anyone who is chemically sensitive and may have heightened concerns for what cleaners are used in their home. On average Americans spend about 90% of their time indoors. Unfortunately, according to the EPA the air inside homes is 2 to 5 times more polluted than the air outside. A few steps to improve indoor air quality are the following: keep the home clean and free of dust, control biological allergens (pollen from outside, dust mites, pet dander, mold and mildew) and avoid using perfumes or scented cleaning sprays. Using natural cleansers that are biodegradable, organic and non toxic will create a healthier environment for those who live in the homes we clean.

Green cleaning is a premium service that takes a bit longer and products cost more but we are able to offer competitive pricing since we are not a franchise and try to keep a low overhead. A lot of homes we have encountered have needed a little more work to get to the stage of maintenance cleaning. Some things such as under beds and furniture, tops of doors and trim, baseboards, corners, sinks with build-up, kitchens with build-up, blinds, bathrooms with hard water issues take longer the first time. Maintenance dusting can be done with either microfiber rags, a cotton duster and/or a HEPA vacuum, while initial cleanings require more vacuuming to get rid of excessive dust. We will work with your budget by rotating rooms/tasks as needed to make things work and make it a win-win!

True green cleaning is fragrance free, and we understand some people prefer or require their home to be as scent free as possible. However, we also understand that natural compounds can provide therapeutic and beneficial scents if used in the proper fashion. We carry high quality essential oils by Doterra. We don’t mask odors, we clean to remove odors and then introduce products, with client approval, that create positive smells. Pillows and bedding are also sprayed upon request.

Yes, all our chicks are pet-friendly! If there are specific instructions to care for your pet while we are cleaning, please let us know before entering your residence. If you have snakes, ummmmmmm – well let’s talk! lol 😉

Of course!! We wouldn’t be able to sleep peacefully at night if we weren’t!

We are happy to make any changes to your scheduled cleaning if the request is made at least 1 business day prior to your scheduled visit, otherwise there will be a $50.00 late cancellation fee. If we experience a lockout or unable to obtain access to your home within a 15 minute window a $50 lockout fee applies.
